Blind Match Racing 2022

French Fédération of Sailing, UNADEV (French National Blind Association) and Base Nautique de Sciez organises an international Blind Match Racing Regatta: 29 August to 1 September.
A warm welcome for an international blind sailing match racers to lac Léman (Geneva Lake).
Visually impaired sailors of all categories B1 B2 and B3 are welcome in Sciez for this great event.
The team will be happy to welcome you for 2 days of training and demonstration of SARA applications on Saturday 27 and Sunday 28 August.

The entry fee (600€) is for a team of 3 sailors plus 1 coach including opening ceremony, Monday 29th August dinner, Wednesday 31st August dinner, giving prize ceremony.

Base Nautique de Sciez


  • 27-28 Aug: Confirmation of registration, SARA navigation, haptic weather vane, acoustic buoys, practice race
  • 28 Aug: Opening Ceremony at 1830.
  • 29 Aug-1 Sep: Racing days
  • 29 Aug: Dinner
  • 31 Aug: Dinner
  • 1 Sep: Giving prize ceremony at 1800.

Team composition rules

  • 6 points maximum per boat.
  • The helm can B1 or B2 without any blindfold device.
  • Exceptionally if necessary to fulfill a team, a sight person with blindfold can be accepted at the discression of the OA.
  • Any other team composition must be approved by the OA

The event will be sailed in Sonar type boats.

The venue will be the Base Nautique de Sciez, 709 chemin de la Renouillère, 74140 Sciez, France.

  • By train: closest train station: Perrignier: 7km away. Direct train from Geneva. 


The closest accommodation is a campsite: Camping du Chatelet: 2- or 3-bedrooms chalet. We have pre-booked 6 chalets. Contact us if you need one (around 650€ for one week: 27 Aug. to 3 Sept.)
